October 2022: An update on Treveth’s current and upcoming developments
As we head towards the end of 2022, we are reflecting on what a busy year it has been here at Treveth. Several of our sites are starting to take shape with a number of other projects in the pipeline.
Please find an update on our key sites and company news below which we hope you will find useful.
Gwel Basset, Tolgus
Construction on our new build homes site in Tolgus, near Redruth, is progressing well. We anticipate launching our new show home by the end of the year and from then, home seekers will be able to visit the development (by appointment only) and find out more about Treveth’s high-quality new build homes. With construction continuing at a steady pace, we are expecting our first completions to come forward in spring 2023.
There will be a total of 185 homes at Gwel Basset comprising of one, two, three and four bedroom properties opposite Redruth School. The majority of these homes, 90, will be private rent, 61 will be affordable rent, 22 will be open market sale and 12 will be shared ownership homes. If you are interested in the open market homes, Bradleys Estate Agents will be your point of contact.
If you are interested in our homes at Gwel Basset, please make sure you have signed up to our mailing list to be the first to hear when these new homes will be available.
Bann an Hyns, Liskeard
You may have spotted on our social media pages recently that our new build homes are really starting to come together now at our Liskeard development, Bann an Hyns. If you missed it, you can watch the video by clicking here.
Construction was temporarily halted after the collapse of our original contractor, but we’re delighted to announce that work has started again now Classic Builders (South West) Ltd has been appointed. We are expecting our first occupations to come forward in spring 2023.
Responding to high demand for affordable and rental properties in Cornwall, there will be no open market homes for sale at this site. Instead, we will be offering 46 homes comprising of one, two and three bedroom properties. The collection will include 35 for private rent, seven affordable rent and four shared ownership homes.
Please make sure you have signed up to our mailing list if you are interested in our new homes at Bann an Hyns, Liskeard.
Park Lanneves, Bodmin
Our Bodmin site, Park Lanneves, also suffered from the demise of the previous building company but we are pleased to confirm that progress is now being made. Local Cornish company Triple D Construction has been appointed and will start on site at the end of October. We will be able to give more details about first completion dates once the contractors have started on site and the build programme has been confirmed. Make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to be the first to hear of any updates.
House seekers can look forward to one, two, three and four bedroom homes with 70 for private rent, 20 affordable rent and 10 shared ownership.
Bedowan Meadows, Newquay
Our proposal for land west of Bedowan Meadows, Newquay, is currently going through the planning process. We are looking forward to bringing high quality homes for the benefit of those who live, work in or have a connection with Newquay.
Our plan is to bring 12 open market, 21 private rent, 12 affordable rent and five shared ownership homes to local people, allowing them to set down roots in their own community. Please visit our public consultation page to find out more.
Redevelopment of land at North Hill, Blackwater
This affordable-led housing scheme is also currently going through the planning process. Back in June, we held a public consultation event at the Blackwater Village Hall where we received a positive local response to the scheme and as a result, St. Agnes Town Council agreed to support the site when it goes to the planning committee.
Our proposals for the redevelopment of this land include 32 bungalows with a mix of tenures. Please keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates.
Land off Angarrack Lane, Connor Downs
We are pleased to announce that we have received approval at committee for outline consent for a 40 unit affordable led residential development on an exception site off Angarrack Lane, Connor Downs near Hayle.
This is an important milestone for Treveth as it’s the first site that we have acquired from the open market and secured consent on. Both affordable and open market homes for local people are in high demand in Cornwall so we are excited to bring forward this development for home seekers who live, work or have family connections within the vicinity of Connor Downs.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates.
Redevelopment of Pydar Street, Truro
As many of you may know, Treveth is the development manager for the proposed transformation of the Pydar Street area of Truro. New homes, restaurants, cafes, nature trails, hotels and other leisure facilities will be coming forward, putting the community back into the heart of Truro and creating a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable urban neighbourhood.
The Reserved Matters Applications for the first three phases are currently being worked on and we are hoping to submit these by the end of the year.
The demolition phase that has been ongoing since early summer is due to finish by the end of November, thereafter various surveys including archeological need to take place before we can start to look at the pre commencement works for the development.
You can find out more about the Pydar Street project here.
The launch of Perran Housing
Finally, we’re pleased to announce that Treveth has launched Perran Housing LLP, a new housing association which will manage Treveth’s social, affordable, and intermediate housing.
Falling under Treveth’s corporate umbrella, the new Perran Housing will ensure that Treveth is responsible for managing all of the tenure-blind housing across its sites with a single management and maintenance process to guarantee all schemes are maintained to the highest quality, offering the same service to affordable and private tenants.
