Regeneration of Penwinnick Road, St Austell

Penwinnick Rd St Austell regeneration 1 1 - Regeneration of Penwinnick Road, St Austell

The former Cornwall Council Offices on Penwinnick Road, St Austell, are set to be the focus of an important and innovative regeneration scheme for the local area that will create a new neighbourhood designed to enhance social connections and create a supportive vibrant environment for residents.

Funded by Treveth, the Penwinnick Road scheme will see the delivery of a new sustainable community for the town, providing much-needed new homes, and people-friendly streets in a shared communal space.

Set within an established tree-lined border, the Penwinnick Road scheme will be designed for community living, where friendships and families can thrive. Including a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes and apartments, the 3.7ha site will provide predominantly open market rental and affordable properties to people who live, work or have family connections in the immediate vicinity of St Austell, discouraging second home ownership.

Supported by the provision of a small local commercial centre on site, helping to create job opportunities and amenities for the residents, the community living scheme will also feature enhanced green spaces including retaining many of the established trees that are located on this significant town-centre site in St Austell.

Designs for the Penwinnick Road scheme, which are currently evolving, will be shaped by feedback from the community and stakeholders over the coming months, prior to the submission of a planning application for the site.
