Chloe and Byron
Nostalgia brings with it a sense of comfort, happiness and perhaps transports you back to a simpler, stress-free time. Feelings of nostalgia can be brought on by hearing an old song, meeting up with a childhood friend or watching your favourite cartoon but for Chloe Mclaughlin, her new Treveth home ignited these warm, cosy feelings.
Chloe, 22, and her partner Byron, 23, moved to an open market rental property at Treveth’s Tolvaddon site, The Coppers, in April 2023. It was the two bedroom home’s handy location and the memories it brought back to Chloe that convinced the couple to make this house their next home.
“There were a couple of reasons why we chose this home. First, it was the handy location” said Chloe. “It’s just a five-minute drive away from work. Byron and I both work at the same company so it is extremely convenient for us. We are also within walking distance of Tesco and Bornefit gym which really suits our lifestyle, and we’re just seconds away from joining the A30. With two cars, it was necessary for our new home to have two allocated parking spaces which this home does, and not to forget all the storage space which we lacked before whilst living with family.
“When we viewed this home, I loved how it looked and how it felt. It was almost as if the home chose us. It reminded me so much of my father’s house from when I was younger. It had that warm, cosy feeling to it.”
Having lived in Redruth and worked in Camborne for many years, the couple were already familiar with the area and had their hearts set on The Coppers for a while before their two bedroom home became available.
“I’ve been keeping an eye on The Coppers for a long time” said Chloe. “I can remember when it was first under construction! When I saw there was an opportunity to rent one of these houses, I was over the moon and contacted Treveth straight away to enquire.”
The Coppers is a popular development of 38 homes and provides a mix of tenures including open market sale, open market rental, shared ownership, and affordable rental. This collection of two and three bedroom homes offer spacious accommodation and excellent transport links. In fact, the quality of the scheme caught the eyes of the Michelmores Property Awards 2020 judges and was shortlisted in the Residential Property of the Year (36 units and over) category.
Chloe and Byron agree that the home offers high-quality living spaces which suit their busy lifestyles.
“The bedrooms are my favourite part of the home” said Chloe. “They are so spacious and have great windows which let in plenty of natural light, plus there are several wall plugs which is always handy for all of our electronics. Byron’s favourite part of the property is the kitchen. He loves how modern it is and how it is conveniently next to the living area.”
All of Treveth’s new build homes are extremely energy efficient, enabling residents to enjoy an affordable, low carbon lifestyle with little effort.
“The energy efficiency was one of the biggest things that drew my attention to this property alongside how it looked” said Chloe. “With the cost-of-living continuing to rise, the EPC was something we took into consideration. This home has a great rating which is ideal and reassuring.”
Of course, it’s not all about the house when looking for a new home. The location is just as important.
“The location of our new home is brilliant” smiled Chloe. “As I mentioned, it’s so convenient for both of us being so close to work, and the local area is also really nice. We have a small corner shop within walking distance and Tehidy Country Park is also nearby. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet, and all of our neighbours are respectful of one another.”
Treveth has a reputation for delivering excellent customer service and Chloe can see why.
“I was very impressed with the service we received from Treveth” said Chloe. “We were happy that we were chosen for the property because for many years, we were constantly being turned away as we were told from all angles that we were too young and too inexperienced to take on a home. This left us feeling very judged and if I’m honest, a bit lost. This didn’t happen with Treveth. I am so grateful that our age wasn’t a barrier and that we can finally live in the home that we have always wanted.
“I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Treveth. Contact the team if you are looking for a non-judgemental and relaxing house hunting experience!”
